2012-06-15 00:00 - Yes, faithful disciples, MESHUGGAH has heard your cries. So you missed out on the first pressing of KOLOSS on black vinyl and seriously considered disembowelment via hara-kari, eh? These are destined to disappear quickly, so if you want one, put your world on hold & get to the Nuclear Blast USA Webshop now at http://bit.ly/kolbrlp!
Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, MESHUGGAH will be kickin’ ass and taking names at the Copenhell Festival in Denmark tomorrow. Just how good are these guys live, you ask? We’ll let their victims speak:
• “Like sticking your head into the airplane exhaust accompanied by the sound you might make from getting your hands stuck in a blender, MESHUGGAH musically assaulted all the senses for the entire duration of last night's amazing set.” – Minneapolis City Pages
• “If you only see one metal show in your lifetime, you should see MESHUGGAH.” – Seattle Weekly
• “Jens Kidman . . . resembled a vulture on a perch, scanning for carrion. And the heaving mass at his feet, with its mosh pit and its succession of crowd-surfers, seemed thrilled to oblige.” – New York Times
• “[T]he bearded five have waged uncivil war against political and musical convention.”
– Los Angeles Times
• “[A]bsolutely nut-rattling… apocalyptically heavy.”
- Houston Press
• “A devastating earthquake hit New York City last night . . . caused by MESHUGGAH. All concertgoers survived, but none will be the same.” – Loudwire.com
• “MESHUGGAH’s set . . . was wave after wave of relentless music, the dense complexity of the songs matched only by the intensity of the delivery.” – Exclaim!
• “[T]he unbelievable virtuosity displayed on record is replicated, note for note, jarring time change for time change, in a live setting with one rapid fire song after another.” – About.com
• “MESHUGGAH didn’t just blow the roof off the joint — they also tore down the walls and burned the remains. MESHUGGAH are just unfuckwithable.” – MetalSucks.net
We rest our case.
Released in late March, KOLOSS debuted on the American Billboard Top 200 Albums chart at #17 and at #2 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart with the band’s highest first week sales of their North American career.
