On Saturday, August 6th, in front of more than 80,000 fans, Tobias Sammet and his AVANTASIA project will headline the last night of Wacken Open Air, the biggest Heavy Metal festival in the world. Featuring guest stars such as Michael Kiske, Jorn Lande, Bob Catley, Kai Hansen and many more, the show will be broadcast live on German TV station "ZDFkultur" at 8:00 pm. This way all fans will have the chance to witness the only AVANTASIA show of the year, despite the event having been sold out for months. The musical-like all-star project of EDGUY-mastermind Tobias Sammet became the flagship of the scene and an often copied but never matched blue print for Rock Opera projects all over the world. Throughout the years AVANTASIA has featured guest stars such as ALICE COOPER, SCORPIONS‘ main men Rudolf Schenker and Klaus Meine, KISS‘ Eric Singer and Bruce Kulick and countless other stars from the Heavy Metal world. The latest album "The Wicked Symphony" reached the album Top 10-charts all over Europe, the current Live-DVD "The Flying Opera" rocketed straight to number one of the German, Swedish and Austrian charts! After the Wacken performance Tobias will focus exclusively on his band EDGUY once again. Edguy's new album "AGE OF THE JOKER" will hit the stores on August 26th, followed by a world tour, kicking off in Sweden on September, 23rd.
