GOTTHARD and EDGUY – support acts for ...
Both Nuclear Blast bands GOTTHARD and EDGUY will perform as support acts for Bülent Ceylan at his show on Saturday, 2nd of June in the Commerzbank Arena, Frankfurt! With an audience of more than 40,000 spectators, the comedian from Mannheim, Germany will present his current program “Wilde Kreatürken” - a very diversified show is to be expected, that moreover will be recorded for a DVD. In 2011, Bülent Ceylan was the first comedian to perform at the Wacken Open Air festival; now, at the beginning of June, he will appear in his first open air rock and roll event.
For the highly successful Swiss rockers GOTTHARD, it’s going to be a baptism by fire of sorts: For the first time after the release of their new album “Firebirth” (out on the 1st of June) they will present their new compositions live for the German public. Guitarist Leo Leoni promises that the band will present itself true to Bülent’s
motto “Rock and Roll”, for “Firebirth” gets back to GOTTHARD’s true hard rocking past and revitalizes the old strengths the band became famous for back in the days: “We’re going back to our roots and have given the album the typical GOTTHARD sound!”
By the time they have their appointment with the long-haired Turkish/German, GOTTHARD will already be warmed up; in May the confederates will complete the first part of their “Firebirth” world tour in Latin America, before the band makes its guest performance in the Frankfurt Commerzbank Arena.
As another special guest, Hessian metallers EDGUY have been announced at last week’s press conference. The band comments: “Via his management, Bülent asked if we‘d be interested and crazy enough to be special guest of such an extraordinary event. It‘s an exciting challenge to go on prior to a stand up comedian, playing to 40.000 comedy fans in a football stadium. We won‘t try to be funny and do comedy ourselves, we‘re rather gonna focus on kicking ass as a Heavy Metal act. Bülent performed as a comedian at Wacken Open Air last year, now it‘s time to change parts and take an in-depth look at his environment. We‘re ready and happy to be part of this venture!“
