Stones Grow Her Name, the seventh studio album by melodic metal band SONATA ARCTICA released this past May, achieved Gold status within a week in their native Finland, but the band members were just recently presented with their awards on-stage at the Tavastia Club in Helsinki. “This is our 9th gold disc from Finland,” stated SONATA vocalist Tony Kakko. “Kiitos Suomi [Thank you, Finland].” Keyboard player Henkka Klingenberg adds: “Although it’s not our first album to go Gold in Finland, it always feels just as amazing that so many fans appreciate what we do. On behalf of the whole band, I’d like to thank you all who bought the album and thus helped us out. Our “Stones Grow Her Name” World Tour is well underway and I look forward to seeing you at the shows on the upcoming European and American tours as well as the places we’ll hit next year. Cheers, beers, and thanks.” Stones Grow Her Name achieved “Highest 1st Week Sales” status for the band in North America and debuted at #9 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart this past May. In Canada, the album debuted at #74 on the Top 200 and #7 on the Top Hard Music Albums chart.
