The track comes from the group’s latest album Savages, which was released this past October. “The song is about the absurdity of the human condition in territories plagued by bloodshed all over the world,” commented Max Cavalera. “Not just recent events like Iraq, but also historical conflicts such as the U.S. Civil War, World Wars I and II, etc.”. Ever since the band's gold-certified debut in 1998, SOULFLY have become deadlier and more dangerous with each critically acclaimed successive release and Savages is no exception. The record was produced by the world-renowned Terry Date (PANTERA, DEFTONES, SOUNDGARDEN), and is the first to feature Max Cavalera's 21-year-old son Zyon on drums. The artwork was created by artist Paul Stottler, who is best known for SACRED REICH’s legendary Surf Nicaragua cover. Guest vocal appearances on Savages include bass player Tony Campos, Max Cavalera's other son Igor Cavalera (LODY KONG), CLUTCH's Neil Fallon, NAPALM DEATH's Mitch Harris and Jamie Hanks of I DECLARE WAR. As if there was a more metal way to come into the world, Zyon’s heartbeat in utero served as the intro to SEPULTURA’s 1993 classic RIAA-gold-certified record Chaos A.D.
