Released on August 20, 1996, October Rust became Type O Negative's biggest album success of their 90s era and the definitive international breakthrough for the band. After Bloody Kisses (1993) also shone with huge success in the US and Germany—long since reaching platinum status—October Rust achieved chart positions previously unprecedented for the group: hitting #42 in the US, #26 in the UK, and #5 in Germany.

Classic songs ranging from “Love You To Death” to their cover version of Neil Young’s “Cinnamon Girl” remain unforgettable, full of character, and indispensable in a nostalgic look back at the 90s doom and gothic metal scene.
