We don’t have to introduce the Melodic Death Metal masterminds of SOILWORK. With their mix of modern, melodic and progressive metal they created a distinctive sound. The last album “The Panic Broadcast” demonstrated the guys from Helsingborg are one of the best Swedish metal acts. The first dual-disc release “The Living Infinite“ will be unleashed in Europe on March 8 through Nuclear Blast records.

“The Living Infinite“ was produced by Jens Bogren (OPETH,AMON AMARTH). Vocalist Björn “Speed” Strid proudly announced the album: “The Living Infinite” will be a double album! A REAL double album, in the true sense of the word, which means no fillers and no left-overs. I’ve been wanting to do this for a while and I proposed the idea to the rest of the guys in the band, during our festival tour last summer.” The artwork of “The Living Infinite” was designed by MNEMIC’s guitarist Mircea Gabriel Eftemie. SOILWORK commented: “We’re all stoked about his work which is different from anything SOILWORK has ever done and perfectly suits the elegant oceanic concept of “The Living Infinite”. Enjoy folks!”

Justin Sullivan lead singer of the British indie-rock-legend NEW MODEL ARMY will be guest vocalist on the track “The Windswept Mercy”. Björn “Speed” Strid is very proud to announce this special guest: “The man is a true legend, a gentleman, and he has a very unique presence in his voice, on stage and in his lyrics. The fact that he wanted to lend his amazing voice to „The Windswept Mercy“ brought me to tears. He will forever be my hero.”

SOILWORK broke up with their guitarist and founding member of the band Peter Wichers. David Anderson will replace Wichers. He has been a longtime touring guitarist for SOILWORK. Björn “Speed” Strid about the line-up change: “It’s in the best interest of both him and us. Peter’s been unable to commit to the kind of touring we need to do and it’s time for us to move on. David Anderson is a blast to be around and kick ass guitarist. Plus, we’ve known him for so many years, from all the touring together, we just know he’s a perfect fit for us.“

SOILWORK’s first full-length release “Steelbath Suicide” (1998) had caused quite a stir in the underground metal scene. The second release “Chainheart Machine” from 2000 showed the huge potential of the band. With their third album “A Predator’s Portrait” the guys demonstrate their songwriting skills. At this point they had played the prestigious Wacken Open Air in front of 20.000 metalheads. With “Natural Born Chaos”, produced by all-round talent Devin Townsend, the band reached a new level and played their first America tour. It was followed by two more America tours to promote “Figure Number Five” in 2003. SOILWORK released their sixth studio album “Stabbing The Drama” featuring their new drummer Dirk Verbeuren in 2005. Peter Wichers, one of the founder members of the band, decided to quit the band to focus on his producer job. With their new guitarist Daniel Antonsson SOILWORK released “Sworn To A Great Divide”, once again with the help of producer Devin Townsend. The first time in the band history SOILWORK conquered the Asian continent. After a short break the band continued with Peter Wichers on the strings and their eighth album “The Panic Broadcast”.

SOILWORK brought the contemporary metal to a new level. This view is also shared by heavy metal legend Rob Halford (Judas Priest). With their distinctive sound the band could gather a huge fan community around them. SOILWORK are a good example that there actually is an evolution within the modern metal scene.
