German Epic Metal pioneers EQUILIBRIUM set aflame a new bonfire in 2014 with their fourth full-length effort »Erdentempel«.
Guitarist, composer and lyricist René Berthiaume spent almost four years working on the new creation. The outcome is a very emotional and above all very personal album, that leads back to the roots of the band, without neglecting the bombast of the previous two records.
Melodic Metal, powerful yet playful, heavy but emotional, inspired but independent.
Smartly crossing genre borders and diving into geniously brave experiments of an exotic nature, just seem to happen and make this album even more interesting and the spearhead of the bands’ discography to this point.
The instrumental compositions on »Erdentempel« melt into a mere perfect symbiosis with the deep, soulful voice of singer Robert „Robse“ Dahn.
A little tidbit of where the development of EQUILIBRIUM is heading has already been given by the band in summer 2013 with the »Waldschrein« EP: Massive melodies, invigoratingly brutal, experimental and truly entertaining.
The album was recorded, produced and mixed under the direction of René Berthiaume at Helion Studios and mastered at Finnvox-Studios/Helsinki.
The cover artwork was done, just like the one for the »Waldschrein« EP, by Skadi van Terror.

Founded in 2001 as a quartet and originally for just one show, the German band managed to evoke such a storm of excitement at their home metal base, that disbanding into nowhere was out of the question. After the first demo release in 2003, their full-length debut »Turis Fratyr« (2005) as well as their Nuclear Blast premiere »Sagas« (2008) followed, with the band entering on #30 of the German charts. Their 2010 output »Rekreatur« even topped this charting success with #20 position on the German album charts.

A hell lot of fun, in the most true sense of the word!
