Surgical Steel – CARCASS’ first studio release since 1996’s Swansong - debuted at #41 on the American Billboard Top 200 chart in September 2013 and was produced by Colin Richardson (NAPALM DEATH, BOLT THROWER, CANNIBAL CORPSE, GOREFEST) & mixed/mastered by Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, ACCEPT, EXODUS, TESTAMENT).
The Surgical Remission / Surplus Steel 5-song EP will be released in North America on November 10th and can be pre-ordered from the Nuclear Blast USA Webshop as a digi-pak, as black and exclusive clear vinyl, and as imported gold and silver vinyl editions. CARCASS return to the United States in late October for their “Inked In Steel North American Tour 2014” with Florida death metal legends OBITUARY and will play elected dates with the eclectic champions of murder metal, MACABRE. Opening are death grinders EXHUMED and newcomers NOISEM.
“We thought it would be cool to go off the beaten track a bit and play some places that usually get overlooked,” stated CARCASS frontman Jeff Walker. “We figure some of the tumbleweeds needed blowing away. Pretty chuffed to have managed to get our pals OBITUARY to come along on these dates. As anyone who has seen them recently will testify, they're tearing it up live nowadays!”
