Billboard-charting Swedish heavy metallers & avid war historians SABATON – who devastated U.S. and Canadian stages with their boundless energy this past year opening for Iced Earth and most recently Amon Amarth – are returning to North America in 2015 as direct support to Finland-based symphonic metal storytellers NIGHTWISH.

Taking a moment prior to their headlining show at The Whisky in Hollywood, California tonight, SABATON members share their thoughts on their quick return to the western hemisphere:

“After the amazing North American tour we’ve just done, it’s time to follow-up! And what is better than another tour? This time, it’s with our friends in NIGHTWISH.”

SABATON will continue to support their seventh studio album, Heroes, which debuted at #99 on the American Billboard Top 200 album chart and at #105 on the Canadian Billboard Top 200 album chart this past June with triple the first-week album sales of their 2012 release Carolus Rex. Heroes also held the #7 position on the American Hard Rock/Metal chart and #11 on the Canadian Hard Rock/Metal chart.
Come out and experience first-hand why SABATON are one of the most popular breakthrough bands in heavy metal.

ABOUT SABATON:
Formed in Falun, Sweden in 1999, the band is best known for singing almost exclusively about historical wars & battles, a direction SABATON members decided to take on after watching the 1999 Academy Award-winning film Saving Private Ryan. “For us it means a lot more to write about historical events than to make up stories,” says bassist Pär Sundström, one of the main songwriters. The band thoroughly researches their topics to ensure the songs paint accurate & objective portraits of the historical event they’re singing about, which are narrated from an omniscient point-of-view or in first-person as a soldier caught in the line of fire. Made honorary citizens of Poland, SABATON aims to remain politically neutral in their role as musical war historians. Heroes marks the band’s first appearance on the American Billboard Top 100 chart.
SABATON is:
Joakim Brodén – Lead Vocals
Thobbe Englund – Lead Guitar
Chris Rörland – Lead Guitar
Pär Sundström - Bass
Hannes Van Dahl - Dru
